Michael Imperioli -- whose screen persona encompasses miscreants, mainliners and mobsters -- was born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on New Year's Day 1966. One of his first memorable film roles was in the 1990 Mafia classic GoodFellas.Early in his career, Imperioli began an ongoing collaboration with Spike Lee, appearing in a number of the director's movies, including Jungle Fever (1991), Malcolm X (1992) and Summer of Sam (1999). Among Imperioli's other film credits are the mainstream Hollywood features Bad Boys (1995) and Last Man Standing (1996) and indie flicks such as Trees Lounge (with Steve Buscemi, 1996).
But it was the small screen that cemented Imperioli's star status when he took on the role of low-level wiseguy Christopher Moltisanti in the blockbuster cable series "The Sopranos." Emmy nominated multiple times for his supporting turn on the show, Imperioli won the award in 2004.
