After spending several years playing small parts on television and in films, Ventimiglia landed the role of the quiet but deep Jess on the critically acclaimed series "Gilmore Girls." Recurring roles on TV shows including "Boston Public" and "American Dreams" followed, as did work in movies such as Rocky Balboa, in which he portrays the legendary boxer's son.
In 2006, Ventimiglia gained widespread attention -- and won a Teen Choice Award -- for his role as Peter Petrelli, a former hospice nurse who absorbs the superpowers of those around him, on the popular series "Heroes."
