A longtime pal and former roommate of John Cusack, character actor Jeremy Piven was born in New York City on July 26, 1965. Their friendship has led to frequent onscreen pairings in such films as Say Anything (1989), The Grifters (1990) and the quirky comedy Grosse Pointe Blank (1997).Also a familiar face on the small screen, Piven played a comedy writer on the late-night spoof "The Larry Sanders Show," but it was his stint (1995-98) as the exasperating cousin of star Ellen DeGeneres on the network series "Ellen" that cemented his fame. In 2004, he took on the supporting role of Hollywood agent Ari Gold in the HBO hit "Entourage," for which Piven netted Emmys three years in a row and six Golden Globe nods, with a win in 2008.
All the while, Piven has continued his cinematic efforts, which include memorable change-of-pace dramatic turns in The Family Man (2000) and Black Hawk Down (2001).
