Isabella Rossellini was born June 18, 1952, one of twin daughters born to actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian director Roberto Rossellini. A renowned beauty who greatly resembles her famous mother, Rossellini worked initially as a model and TV journalist, making a little-seen film debut in 1976's A Matter of Time.White Nights (1985) marked the start of Rossellini's American film career; she followed it with a sexually charged lead in David Lynch's controversial Blue Velvet. Rossellini's roles tend to the eccentric, eclectic and exotic, from Death Becomes Her to Fearless, Wyatt Earp, Big Night and The Saddest Music in the World (2003).
Briefly married to Martin Scorsese, Rossellini has also worked in international films, onstage, and on TV, including an homage to her mother in an episode of "Tales from the Crypt" and voicing a character on "The Simpsons."
