The stunning "Queen of Bollywood" Aishwarya Rai was born November 1, 1973, in Mangalore, India. She modeled part time while studying her first love, architecture. But with her distinctive green eyes, she was a natural for the camera and soon famous for both Coca-Cola and Pepsi commercials in the Middle East.After being crowned Miss World 1994, Rai began an immensely successful career in Indian films starting with 1997's Iruvar. She won India's Filmfare Award as Best Actress in Straight from the Heart (1999). Also a successful singer, "Ash" has recorded more than 50 music videos.
Her list of accomplishments includes being the highest-paid Bollywood actress, the first Indian actress on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and being voted one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World" by Time magazine (2004). Rai's first international hit, Bride and Prejudice, was released in 2004.
