Andrew Davis
Acclaimed action director Andrew Davis was born in Chicago, Ill., in 1947. He put his early experience as a cameraman to good use throughout his career, particularly when directing the dazzling action sequences found in his films.Davis worked stints as a journalist, TV cameraman and photographer before serving on the crew of the landmark 1969 indie Medium Cool; he then hit his directorial stride in 1985 with Code of Silence, a superior cop movie starring Chuck Norris. In 1988, Davis co-wrote and directed Steven Seagal's successful debut Above the Law, and in 1989 directed Gene Hackman in The Package.
