Soon after Garfield debuted on screen in Britain's teen drama series "Sugar Rush" (2005), Variety named him one of "10 Actors to Watch." He went on to make a high-profile film bow as an American college student in Lions for Lambs (2007), playing opposite Meryl Streep, Tom Cruise and Robert Redford.
In 2008, Garfield won a BAFTA TV Award for his portrayal of an adolescent with a troubled past in the made-for-television movie Boy A. He later earned his first Golden Globe nod for his supporting turn as Eduardo Saverin, Facebook's co-founder and chief financial officer, in The Social Network (2010).
