Annie Sundberg
Annie SundbergBorn in suburban Minnesota, where it got dark earlier than in other parts of the country, independent filmmaker Annie Sundberg fell in love with movies at a young age, in part because she couldn't stay outdoors and play until bedtime.

As a student at Dartmouth College, Sundberg had her first real brush with moviemaking when she created a mockumentary about sourcing wells in New England, after which she went on to embrace the documentary form.

Sundberg has collaborated with filmmaker and fellow Dartmouth alumnus Ricki Stern on a series of noteworthy projects, including The Trials of Darryl Hunt (2006), a moving profile of a man wrongly convicted of rape and murder that was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and the Sundance Grand Jury Prize; and The Devil Came on Horseback (2007), an emotional account of genocide in Sudan.
