Born Aug. 25, 1964, in Tacoma, Wash., Blair Underwood lived all around the world with his military family before studying acting at Carnegie Mellon University. Shortly after moving to New York, Underwood landed a guest spot on "The Cosby Show" and made his big-screen debut in the hip-hop classic Krush Groove.In 1987, Underwood was cast in his breakthrough role as lawyer Jonathan Rollins on the long-running TV series "L.A. Law," which earned him a Golden Globe nod in 1991. A dominant force on the small screen ever since, he's starred and played recurring roles in many popular series, including "Sex and the City," "Dirty Sexy Money" and HBO's "In Treatment."
On the big screen, Underwood has turned in memorable performances in films such as Rules of Engagement (2000), Steven Soderbergh's Full Frontal (2002) and Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion (2006).
