Brenda Vaccaro
A prolific actress of the 1970s and '80s whose trademark husky tones transferred seamlessly to voiceover work, Brenda Vaccaro was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Nov. 18, 1939, but spent most of her childhood in Texas. She studied at New York City's Neighborhood Playhouse and charmed Broadway with a trio of Tony-nominated performances in "Cactus Flower" (1966), "How Now, Dow Jones" (1968) and "The Goodbye People" (1969).

On the big screen, Vaccaro is best known for her work in the 1969 classic Midnight Cowboy, Airport '77 (1977) and her Oscar-nominated, Golden Globe-winning turn in Once Is Not Enough (1975). She also snagged an Emmy for the TV movie The Shape of Things (1973).

Later in her career, Vaccaro delivered an Emmy-nominated performance as Dr. Jack Kevorkian's sister in the HBO biopic You Don't Know Jack (2010). Her voice can be heard on the classic cartoons "The Smurfs" and "Johnny Bravo."
