A Yale-trained actor with extensive credits in theater, television and film, Chris Noth was born Nov. 13, 1954, in Madison, Wis., and appeared chiefly in indie fare before finding mainstream success as Det. Mike Logan on the critically acclaimed crime drama "Law & Order" (1990-95).But the cosmopolitan-sipping fans of "Sex and the City" will likely link Noth with his recurring role as Carrie Bradshaw's notorious Mr. Big (1998-2004), a charismatic lothario who entranced an otherwise independent urban woman.
Largely because of the exposure he received from the show, Noth began accepting parts in more mainstream films. He appeared in Cast Away (2000), Mr. 3000 (2004) and The Perfect Man (2005) before announcing his return to series television and reprising his role as Mike Logan on the "Law & Order" spinoff "Law & Order: Criminal Intent." In 2010, Noth earned a Golden Globe nod for his supporting role on the hit drama "The Good Wife."
