Cookie Monster
Cookie MonsterKnown for his blue fur, googly eyes and insatiable appetite, Cookie Monster got his start on "The Ed Sullivan Show," where an early fanged version of the voracious Muppet (voiced by Frank Oz and David Rudman) was a big hit when he ate a bomb -- then promptly exploded.

A gentler version of Cookie Monster soon became a regular on "Sesame Street," where he was popular with children, who could relate to his unending desire for cookies. His theme, "C Is for Cookie," is one of the most well-known songs from "Sesame Street." Kids of all ages enjoy his appearances on the "Monsterpiece Theater" segments, where he plays host Alistair Cookie and exudes a more sophisticated demeanor while still retaining his deep growl and direct manner of speech.

Cookie Monster also spends time promoting a balanced diet and has switched to eating healthier cookies -- sometimes.
