Debbie Reynolds
Born Mary Frances Reynolds on April 1, 1932, in El Paso, Texas, the pert actress later dubbed Debbie moved to California with her family and won the Miss Burbank beauty contest. During that same year (1948), Warner Bros. signed her to a contract, but it wasn't until the early '50s, when Reynolds moved to MGM and appeared in a string of musicals, that America fell in love with her.

After singing "Aba Daba Honeymoon" in Two Weeks with Love and holding her own with Gene Kelly in Singin' in the Rain, Reynolds scored hits with Tammy and the Bachelor (1957), How the West Was Won (1962) and The Unsinkable Molly Brown (1964), for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar. Later hits included The Singing Nun and Divorce American Style.

Reynolds turned to Broadway in the 1970s with a hit revival of "Irene" and returned to films in the '90s with Mother and In and Out.
