The son of Martin Sheen and older brother of Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez was born on May 12, 1962, and spent the bulk of his childhood in Hollywood, where he grew up alongside future movie stars such as Sean Penn and Rob Lowe.He kicked off his career as an actor with notable performances in Tex (1982) and The Outsiders (1983). But Estevez is by far best known for his association with the so-called Brat Pack, a group of young actors who appeared together in the influential 1980s films The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire (both 1985) and included his childhood playmate Lowe as well as Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore and Judd Nelson.
In 1992, Estevez signed on to play a lawyer turned hockey coach in The Mighty Ducks and reprised the role in two sequels (1994 and 1996) before turning his attention to directing, most notably with the all-star political drama Bobby (2006).
