Although Fawcett's first major film role in Myra Breckinridge (1970) was a critical flop, a popular pinup that showed off the blond actress's assets in a skimpy one-piece set her on course for major stardom. Despite a résumé of Emmy-nominated roles in television movies such as The Burning Bed (1984) and Small Sacrifices (1989), Fawcett is best known as one of the three original "Charlie's Angels" -- even though she was only a series regular for one season.
In 2006, Fawcett began what would become a painful and public battle with cancer, an ordeal documented in the news special "Farrah's Story." She finally succumbed to the disease on June 25, 2009.
