Jared Leto
Jared LetoFirst known for his role as dimwitted dreamboat Jordan Catalano in the Emmy-nominated "My So-Called Life," Jared Leto has spent much of his career trying to shed the heartthrob image by taking on physically demanding roles in dark films -- including Requiem for a Dream (2000), for which he lost nearly 30 pounds.

Born Dec. 26, 1971, in Bossier City, La., Leto studied filmmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. Leto earned critical acclaim playing the title role in 1997's Prefontaine, followed in quick succession by roles in Girl, Interrupted, American Psycho and David Fincher's Fight Club and Panic Room.

After co-starring in Oliver Stone's big-budget epic Alexander (2004), Leto took on another transformative role, gaining 60 pounds to play assassin Mark David Chapman in Chapter 27.
