Born Jan. 14, 1969, in Rye, N.Y., Jason Bateman got his first acting job at age 10 when he accompanied a friend to an audition and got the part instead. Since then, he's been an almost constant presence on the small screen and is finally beginning to make a splash on the big screen as well, with strong supporting roles in comedies such as Starsky & Hutch (2004).In 1982, Bateman got his big break when he was cast opposite Ricky Schroder in the sitcom "Silver Spoons." Perfecting a sort of modern-day Eddie Haskell persona for the role, Bateman found steady work during the '80s as the wiseacre teen in a long list of sitcoms.
After a string of considerably less successful sitcoms in the '90s, Bateman landed the plum role of the good son on "Arrested Development" in 2003, and suddenly, his career was hot again. Since then, he's appeared in the big-screen hits Dodgeball and The Break-Up (2006).
