Born Aug.13, 1962, and named after his father, Boston native John Slattery built a solid career on television -- starring as Pvt. Dylan Leeds in "Dirty Dozen: The Series" and as a union organizer in "Homefront" -- before making his feature-film debut in City Hall (1996).While Slattery's talents have extended to stage work on Broadway, small-screen character parts remain the silver-haired actor's bread and butter. Before landing his Emmy-nominated supporting role as cynical adman Roger Sterling on the critically acclaimed cable drama "Mad Men," Slattery turned in memorable guest appearances on "Will & Grace," "Judging Amy," "Law & Order," "Sex and the City" and "Desperate Housewives."
Slattery's later cinematic credits include Traffic (2000), Mona Lisa Smile (2003), Flags of Our Fathers (2006), Charlie Wilson's War (2007) and Iron Man 2 (2010).
