Julie Kavner
As chubby younger sister Brenda on "Rhoda" (spun off from "The Mary Tyler Moore Show"), Julie Kavner sounds like a native New Yorker -- despite having grown up in California. Born in Burbank Sept. 7, 1951, Kavner got her big showbiz break in 1974 when she was cast opposite Valerie Harper on "Rhoda."

By the time "Rhoda" went off the air in 1978, Kavner had snagged an Emmy for her role -- a feat she repeated 14 years later for providing the raspy voice of Marge Simpson on the animated series "The Simpsons." In between, Kavner received multiple nominations for her work on that program and for a range of parts on "The Tracey Ullman Show."

Kavner has also made her mark in films, appearing in five Woody Allen projects (including Hannah and Her Sisters, 1986; Radio Days, 1987; and Shadows and Fog, 1992). Among her later big-screen efforts are Judy Berlin (1999) and Click (2006).
