Lea Michele
An accomplished singer and actress who spent the bulk of her adolescence on New York City stages, Lea Michele (whose last name is Sarfati) was born Aug. 29, 1986, in the Bronx.

Michele made her Broadway debut when she was 8 years old, playing Young Cosette in "Les Misérables," and went on to appear in the original Broadway cast of "Ragtime." In 2006, the actress took on the part of a teen exploring her budding sexuality in the Tony-winning rock musical "Spring Awakening," earning raves for her electrifying voice -- along with a Drama Desk Award nomination for her standout performance.

On the small screen, Michele is best known for her spirited portrayal of self-appointed star and social misfit Rachel Berry on the quirky hit series "Glee." Showcasing Michele's enviable vocal talents, the role set her up for back-to-back Golden Globe nods and an Emmy nomination in 2010.
