Michael Stuhlbarg
A Juilliard-trained actor whose stage credits far outweigh his filmography -- at least for now -- Michael Stuhlbarg was born in Long Beach, Calif., on July 5, 1968. In addition to his time at Juilliard, he also trained at UCLA, the British American Drama Academy at Balliol and Keble Colleges in Oxford, and on scholarship with legendary mime Marcel Marceau.

Stuhlbarg's theater résumé includes a Drama Desk Award-winning and Tony-nominated performance in "The Pillowman." He was also cast in Sam Mendes's Broadway revival of "Cabaret" and performed the title role in "Richard II" with the New York Shakespeare Festival.

On the big screen, Stuhlbarg has played mostly supporting parts. But in 2009, he crossed into new territory with his first lead role (and his first Golden Globe nod), playing a 1960s college professor in the Coen brothers' black comedy A Serious Man.
