Miranda Richardson
Miranda RichardsonBorn on March 3, 1958, in Lancashire, England, Miranda Richardson attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. After graduating, she acted in repertory and regional theater before first appearing on the London stage in 1981.

British television and film roles soon followed, and she next made a splash in Mike Newell's Dance with a Stranger (1985), earning critical acclaim for her portrayal of Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be executed for murder in Britain. Richardson went on to give strong performances in diverse roles -- from the long-suffering wife of a British MP in Damage (which earned her an Oscar nomination) to a cold-blooded IRA terrorist in The Crying Game and a radio station secretary in The Apostle.

Other notable films include Empire of the Sun, Enchanted April (for which she earned a Golden Globe), Tom & Viv (which earned her an Oscar nomination) and Kansas City.
