Patrick Stewart
Patrick StewartA classically taught star of stage, screen and television, Patrick Stewart is best known for playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in the hit series "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

Born July 13, 1940, in Mirfield, England, Stewart began his thespian training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and put his dramatic skills to work with a variety of repertory groups; in 1966 he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company. On stage, he led the cast as Prospero in the 1995 Broadway production of "The Tempest."

Stewart's roster of movie credits includes Dune (1984), Conspiracy Theory (1997), X-Men (2000) and the 1998 cable remake of Moby Dick, for which he racked up Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. He scored another Emmy nod in 2010 for his turn in the PBS broadcast of "Hamlet." Stewart's commanding tone has led to ample voice work in films, including The Prince of Egypt (1998) and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (2001).
