Simon Pegg
An English actor, writer and comedian who enjoyed a successful career in Britain before catching the collective eye of international audiences, Simon Pegg was born in Gloucester, England, on Valentine's Day, 1970. Spurred by a childhood fascination with horror movies, Pegg studied film and theater before pursuing a career as a stand-up comic.

The actor's star was on the rise after landing a role on the popular BBC sitcom "Spaced" (1999-2001). But Pegg's equally adept talents as a writer propelled his career into a whole new realm with the release of the cult-hit zombie spoof Shaun of the Dead (2004). He reteamed with co-writer Edgar Wright and actor Nick Frost for the follow-up action farce Hot Fuzz (2007).

Pegg's popularity also helped him score the coveted role of iconic Enterprise crew member Montgomery "Scotty" Scott in the big-screen remake of Star Trek (2009).
