British actor Tim Curry -- most famous for his turn as a cross-dressing mad scientist in the 1975 cult hit The Rocky Horror Picture Show -- was born April 19, 1946, in Cheshire, England. After getting schooled in Shakespeare with drama and English degrees from Birmingham University, Curry appeared in numerous stage productions before moving into films and television.Curry has played memorable parts in movies such as Annie (1982), Clue (1985) and The Hunt for Red October (1990), and his portrayals of the pompous concierge in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) and the lecherous Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers (1993) earned rave reviews.
Curry's TV credits include a recurring role in the drama series "Wiseguy." The thespian -- who often lends his distinctive voice to animated tales -- won a 1990 Daytime Emmy Award for his work in the cartoon series "Peter Pan and the Pirates."
