With her husband away at war, Dorothy (Lisa Hensley) has spent World War II raising her three children in the Australian countryside. As the conflict drags on, Dorothy and Italian POW Alfredo (Steve Bastoni), who assists her in her duties, nurture an unspoken -- as yet platonic -- passion for each other. But as the war winds down and normalcy starts to return, Dorothy and her amour wonder what the future holds for them.
