The End of the Affair

Sarah Miles (Deborah Kerr), the dutiful wife of a British civil servant (Peter Cushing), begins an adulterous affair with neighbor Maurice Bendrix (Van Johnson) during World War II. As war activity increases in England, Maurice vanishes in the fray. Sarah blames herself for his disappearance, vowing to end the affair and go back to her husband if Maurice returns safely. Based on Graham Greene's semi-autobiographical novel.
