In a stroke of divinely inspired casting, Loretta Young and Celeste Holm play two French nuns who arrive in Bethlehem, Pa., on a mission to build a children's hospital. Though the odds are against them, the plucky pair is determined to persevere. Based on a story by Clare Boothe Luce, director Henry Koster's gentle comedy earned seven Oscar nominations, including two for its leading ladies.
