Charming con man Chhalia (Raj Kapoor) believes he's found the love of his life when he meets the beautiful Shanti (Nutan Behl), only to discover that she's not exactly single: Not only is she still married to her estranged husband (Rehman), she has a mysterious protector (Pran) who just so happens to be Chhalia's mortal enemy. Who will eventually win her heart?
