Bleak Moments

  (1971)
A secretary named Sylvia (Anne Raitt) longs for romance to break up the drabness of a life devoted to caring for her mentally challenged sister, Hilda (Sarah Stephenson). Peter (Eric Allan), a teacher, somewhat fills that need, but Norman, a musician who rents out her garage (Mike Bradwell), complicates matters. Mike Leigh makes his directorial debut with this drama based on a stage play that he wrote.
