Almos' a Man

Dave (LeVar Burton) is a poor black teenager growing up in the Deep South in the 1930s. Spending his days working as a field hand, Dave grows frustrated with the way white folks treat him and ponders buying a gun so people will give him the proper respect. Dave's mother (Madge Sinclair) expresses her disapproval, but her words fall on deaf ears. Stan Lathan directs this short drama based on a story by Richard Wright.
