Born into difficult circumstances, Joseph Benedict Cottolengo goes on to devote his life to helping the sick and destitute in this dramatized biography of the Catholic saint. After becoming an ordained priest, he founds the Little House of Divine Providence shelter, where he dedicates himself to serving the needy. Often called the Italian Vincent de Paul, Cottolengo died in 1842 and was beatified in 1917.
