Elvis Presley: The Ed Sullivan Shows
(1956)|
On Sept. 9, 1956, more than 60 million people watched as Elvis Presley thrust his hips and wailed his way into the American consciousness in a history-making "Ed Sullivan Show" appearance. That performance is captured here, as are two others from the same period. In addition to hysteria-inducing renditions of "Don't Be Cruel," "Love Me Tender" and "Hound Dog," the presentation includes a 1955 home movie with an early performance by the King.
