In the post-Civil War West, misfits Demas Harrod (Tom Tryon) and Sol Rogers (Harve Presnell) join the cavalry regiment of Gen. McCabe (Andrew Duggan). Ready to destroy the Apaches at any cost, McCabe sacrifices his men to satisfy his bloodlust. Amid the deadly action, Harrod and Rogers find time to romance a feisty frontier woman (Senta Berger). Sam Peckinpah wrote this adaptation of the novel The Dice of God. James Caan and Slim Pickens co-star.
